The debut release by one-man composer/ performer Michael Engebretson's Bamboo Cathedral focuses on a theme of "mystery and wonder." For the most part, this takes the form of minimal synth constructions and electronics, favoring simple (when present) melodies. Bamboo Cathedral's use of space is especially evocative. I also liked the odd piece with voice and story about the wonderous aspect of the universe - very childlike and fun.
