Discussions Vol. 1: The Silly Pillows – I Smile at Women

[J. Caws-Elwitt] Strangest Songs (ASCAP) (c) & (P) 2006

This track was released as part of a mini-album entitled Again with the Silly Pillows, wherein Jonathan and Hilary Caws-Elwitt reprised the “home-recorded duo” approach that had characterized the group’s earliest recordings. The organ track on this Brazilian-jazz-tinged pop tune was inspired by the work of Walter Wanderley.

We reached out to 100 or so of our closest recording artist friends to make an mp3 CD of music and discussions around the making of each track. The full album is available as a free download on the Internet Archive. An index is HERE on GAJOOB linking to pages of discussions. Discussions Vol. 2 is open for recordings.
