This Apple Watch band design by Blind Mime Studio has a story behind it.
Graphic Artist, Bryan Baker, was visiting the Bear River Massacre site in Franklin, Idaho. It’s the location of the largest native American massacre in history with over 400 Shoshone men, women and children slaughter in the bitter cold of a January morning. The spot has a small grove of bush trees where Shoshone Nation members gather every year to commemorate the event with hopes to one day build an educational center. The trees are filled with totems that cry from the dust.
Baker was shooting photographs from the bluff overlooking the valley below and just as he was about to leave, a flurry of hawks began circling the above; a testimony that these spirits will never die through continued devotion to their memory.
B> offers this watch band’s proceeds to help fund the Boa Ogoi Cultural Interpretive Center. More information can be found at https://boaogoi.org
