Musician’s Journal Collaborative Zine Page Submmissions
Upload 1 or 2 pages in pdf or jpg format, 1725×2625 pixels per page (5.5×8.5 inches). Keep type and any important elements away from the edges.
We’re mainly interested in your stories about making music. But feel free to make your page personal and reflect the place you live. Poetry, art, photography, graphics, prose, anecdotes, whatever you think of should have a place. Be personal, or not. Have fun or make it a cathartic, sharing experience. It’s up to you!
Here are a dozen prompt ideas for pages in the collaborative Musician Journal Zine:
- “My First Instrument”: Share stories and photos of your first musical instrument and how it influenced your musical journey.
- “Behind the Lyrics”: Explain the inspiration and meaning behind the lyrics of one of your original songs.
- “Gig Memories”: Describe your most memorable live performance, including details about the venue, audience, and any unexpected moments.
- “Soundtrack of My Life”: List and discuss the songs or albums that have had the biggest impact on your life and musical style.
- “Creative Process”: Detail your songwriting or composing process, including any rituals, tools, or environments that help you create.
- “Collaborations”: Write about a favorite collaboration with another artist, what you learned from the experience, and how it shaped your music.
- “Influences and Inspirations”: Highlight the musicians and genres that have influenced your work, and how they continue to inspire you.
- “Practice Routines”: Share your daily or weekly practice routines, tips for staying motivated, and techniques for improving your skills.

These prompts can help musicians share their personal experiences, insights, and inspirations with fellow artists and fans in the Musician Journal Zine. Would you like more prompts or assistance with something else?
