Trigg Historical Society Secures $5,500 Grant from Kentucky Colonels for Community Engagement Projects

The Trigg County Historical and Preservation Society has received a grant of over $5,500 from the Kentucky Colonels’ 2024 Good Works Program. This funding will be used to purchase a wooden train set based on the former Cadiz Railroad, inspired by one of the children’s books written by member Linda Wood, who also filed the grant application. The grant was presented at the Barren River Area Development District office. As part of their efforts to engage the community, the society is also hosting a series of Saturday events, with the next scheduled for July 6th featuring guest speaker Derrick Lindow, an 8th-grade history teacher from Owensboro.
